Newsletters are sent via email to licensees with active email addresses and mailed to other licensees.

Council on Optometric Nontopical Formulary

ORS 683.240 created this multi-disciplinary group who is responsible for determining the substances to be included in the optometric nontopical formulary that may be used by an Oregon optometrist. 

Members include: an Optometry Board member, a licensed Oregon pharmacist, a Medical Board member, an OHSU faculty member, an Oregon physician, a practicing optometrist, and an optometrist or ophthalmologist on faculty at an optometry school.

Rule ​changes

​The Board has filed rules​ to create temporary licensure in emergency situations and to edit rules regarding telehealth​. Comments will be received until June 22, 2023 at 2:30 pm. For questions about proposed rules changes, contact Executive Director Shelley Hanson at  971-701-1194 or via email at shelley.g.hanson@obo.oregon.gov​. 

Updating your License Record online

Our new online license portal is available.​ You can update your practice addresses, update your CPR certification, request license verifications and enter CE prior to renewal.

If you need a license verification for another state or for credentialing, please visit this web page​ for more information (Active and inactive status OBO licensees DO NOT use this link. Make the request in the document reqest section of the portal. If you are a lapsed or retired status licensee, use this link)​​. If you would like to order a list of our active or inactive status licensees, click the link above and then click "Document request." That will allow you to do an online order and pay via credit card. Once the payment processes, OBO will email the requested list.

Oregon does primary source verification of every applicant's optometry education.
