All actively licensed optometrists in Oregon must maintain continuous CPR certification as a condition of licensure.
Overview – What CPR Certification Is Required
- Initial licensure requires completion of a hands-on CPR course that includes a skills demonstration.
- After initial licensure, online CPR courses are acceptable to the Board.
- BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required for license renewal.
- CPR courses do not count toward continuing education (CE) credit.
How to Document CPR Certification
- Complete an acceptable CPR certification course.
- Obtain a CPR certification card showing current status.
- Submit a copy of the CPR card with your initial license application.
- For renewals or updated CPR certifications, upload documentation through your licensing account.
