DCS is responsible for developing innovative solutions aimed at automating the business operations that support the Oregon constituents they serve. The operations of DCS are outside the direct management control of these agencies and are guided by a governance structure that is business centric to ensure business needs drive key decisions regarding the IT infrastructure supported by DCS.
The infrastructure components supported by DCS are made up of local and wide area network connectivity, storage management, computer hosting, and disaster recovery. Consumers of DCS services include partners (consumers who rely exclusively on all services provided by DCS) and clients (consumers who rely on only selected DCS services). As noted in the Enterprise Security Office section, DCS has a strong partnership with the CSS.
