Corrections Population Forecast

The Oregon Corrections Population Forecast estimates the number of inmates in Oregon's prisons over the next ten years and is used to develop the budget for the Oregon Department of Corrections. The Corrections Forecast covers state-funded correctional populations including: prison, felony probation, parole and post-prison supervision, and felons serving local sentences of 12 or fewer months. The monthly population projects are broken out to show the impact of major law or policy changes.

The Corrections Population Forecast is issued twice a year on April 1 and October 1. Please feel free to contact Mitchell D'Sa at 971-718-2516 or mitchell.dsa@das.oregon.gov or Michael Kennedy at 971-446-1379 michael.kennedy@das.oregon.gov on matters regarding Corrections forecasts.

Corrections Population Forecast Advisory Committee

The Corrections Population Forecast Advisory Committee was formed in 1990 to assist the Office of Economic Analysis in preparing estimates of criminal offender populations in the State of Oregon.
