The Background Check Unit (BCU) provides background check services and support to all DHS and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) divisions for employment purposes, for those who provide services or seek to provide services as a contractor, subcontractor, vendor or volunteer, or are employed by qualified entities that provide care and are licensed, certified, registered or otherwise regulated by DHS or OHA.

. This rule is part of the Department of Human Services provider background check rules, Oar 407-007-0200 to 407-007-0370. The text for this rule was originally drafted in OAR 407-007-0317. This previous rules was scheduled for permanent filing on 1/24/2020 but, due to other rules regarding background checks not being filed until February 2020, this rule expired. The text of it is now being re-adopted in OAR 407-007-0318. This rules specifically allows for approval under certain circumstances for subject individuals under the Family First Act of 2018.
