Runaway and Homeless Youth

Homelessness affects youth in urban, suburban and rural parts of the state. All young people should have safe and stable places to stay, the services and supports they need to thrive, and opportunities to reach their full potential.

""
In 2011, the Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) program was assigned to the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) and allocated into the Self-Sufficiency Programs (SSP) arm of the agency in 2019. SSP has the mission of improving family capacity to provide safe and permanent living environments.

Do You Need Help?

If you or someone you know needs assistance, you can find help by using the 211info site or downloading the 211info Mobile app.

If you are a young person who is thinking about running away or already has, you can talk to someone confidentially at the National Runaway Safeline: 1-800-RUNAWAY or 1-800-786-2929.
