Commission seeks to fill vacancies

The Oregon Charitable Checkoff commission meets every year in August to determine which charitable organizations appear on Oregon income tax forms. These charitable organizations are then listed on the Schedule OR-DONATE and taxpayers may choose to donate a portion or all of their refund to any of the listed charities. Currently, two positions filled by the public on the seven-member commission are vacant. The Department of Revenue is looking for candidates to recommend for appointment by the Governor. Email olivia.hallyburton@dor.oregon.gov to learn more about applying.

How it works

Taxpayers can donate all, or a portion, of their personal income tax refund to any or all of the 29 charities approved by the Charitable Checkoff Commission. Taxpayers need to use Form OR-DONATE to designate the amount of their refund to donate to charity. Charities are rotated on Form OR-DONATE every two years.
