Board Update: Board Scam Calls--Beware

Board Update: Board Scam Calls--Beware

Published: January 28, 2026

Just a heads up that Gabby and I have received three phone calls this morning from licensees that have received phone calls from the “Board.” The caller’s name is Lisa Morgan, and she looks like she’s calling from the Board’s old phone number 503-399-0662. She tells the licensees that they are under investigation. She has their OBO license number and NPI number. She tells them that they have been or are under investigation. One licensee stayed on the line until she was being transferred to the investigator. They are making multiple phone calls too and have even left a voicemail for one licensee.

Just a reminder that Gabby and I are the only OBO staff members. The Board doesn’t initiate investigations via phone. Any matter that could lead to discipline, like an investigation, is initiated in writing. OBO doesn’t have your NPI numbers, so that’s another sign that it isn’t OBO making the calls.

Thank you to the licensees that reached out to us. If you receive a call, just know that it’s a scam and it’s not the Board.
