The Oregon Board of Optometry is sharing important updates and reminders to help licensees complete the renewal process accurately and avoid common issues.
Continuing Education (CE) Entry Issues
There may be occasional issues when entering continuing education (CE) in the licensing system.
If you do not see the option to add a CE record after selecting your current year plan in the licensee portal, try logging out and logging back in before attempting again.
Review Your License Information
Before completing your renewal, carefully review your license record to ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
This includes verifying:
- Personal contact information
- License status
- Reported continuing education (CE)
Continuing Education Requirements
Be sure all CE requirements are completed and properly entered before submitting your renewal.
Incomplete or incorrect CE reporting may delay your renewal or require follow-up.
Fees and Late Penalties
Renewal fees must be submitted by the required deadline.
Late renewals may result in additional fees or penalties, so it is important to complete the process on time.
Additional Compliance Reminders
- Maintain current CPR certification, if required
- Ensure prescriptions and records meet current requirements
- Keep documentation available if requested
Tips for a Smooth Renewal Process
- Start your renewal early
- Double-check all entries before submitting
- Keep copies of CE certificates and documentation
