The Oregon Board of Optometry is sharing important reminders and updates at the start of the year to help licensees prepare for renewal and maintain compliance with current requirements.

Prepare for the Renewal Cycle

As the new year begins, licensees should begin preparing for the upcoming renewal cycle by reviewing requirements and ensuring all necessary steps are completed in advance.

  • Confirm your license information is accurate
  • Review continuing education (CE) requirements
  • Begin organizing documentation for renewal

Continuing Education (CE) Guidance

Make sure all continuing education (CE) activities are completed and properly recorded in the licensing system.

  • Enter CE information accurately in the portal
  • Verify course details and credit hours
  • Keep certificates of completion for your records

Licensing Portal Updates

The licensing system may include updates or changes that affect how information is entered or displayed.

Licensees are encouraged to review their records in the portal to ensure all information is correct and complete.

Compliance Reminders

  • Follow all current Board rules and requirements
  • Maintain required certifications, such as CPR if applicable
  • Keep documentation available if requested
