Exams
At licensure, every applicant must complete the Oregon laws & administrative rules exam administered through NBEO and pass with a score of 80 or better. Here is the
compilation of the laws/rules to use for the exam. Updated content is located on the laws/rules page.
Once the exam is completed, have your scores sent to the Oregon Board of Optometry for inclusion with your other license application materials.
Oregon law requires licensees to complete a one-hour law or ethics course every other year. See some course options below.
NOTE: The COPE category of "Ethics" (EJ) is not approved unless otherwise approved by the Board.
Another way to earn law or ethics credit is by attending at least one hour of an
Oregon Board of Optometry Board meeting,
