Livestock Auction Market Licenses

Livestock auction markets are businesses where the public may consign livestock for sale by auction open to public bidding or sold on a commission basis. This does not include breed or livestock association non-profits, FFA, 4-H, fairs, or private property auctions. Licensees must carry a Bond and keep it on file with the Department. ODA Brand inspectors are required to inspect cattle prior to public auction.

Prior to license approval, there must be a public hearing within the trade area proposed to be served, or if requested by the applicant, at the department's location in Salem, Oregon.
