Pest Detections

As part of ODA's efforts to detect and mitigate exotic species, detections of terrestrial invertebrate species (insects, mites, slugs, snails, spiders, worms, etc.) new to Oregon are tracked. Invasion occurs constantly, and Oregon has averaged over 10 new species per year since 2007. Of those, about one in five are known pests when detected.

The list below shows species detected this year that are known to be established in Oregon or that may be. If a species' status is unclear, it will be monitored for three years. If it has not been detected again within the three years, then it is considered "not established." For historical detections by year and additional details, see the PDF of historical data.
