How to Make an Appointment

Schedule Your Own DMV Appointment

On July 6, DMV will begin offering a new online appointment scheduling tool. This online service allows you to schedule your appointment yourself at an office and time that works for you. You do not need to wait for a call back from DMV. You will also be able to use the online tool to change or cancel an appointment. DMV will send you a confirmation email with your appointment information.

DMV will continue through the summer accepting appointments only for these services:
  • Driver license, permit and ID card issuances;
  • Driver knowledge tests;
  • Disabled parking permits;
  • Farm endorsements; and
  • VIN inspections at some offices – OR use the map to find the nearest office where no appointment is needed.
Beginning July 1, prepare to wear a face covering/mask at all Oregon DMV offices.

DMV staff are using the time between June 27 and July 6 to make contact with everyone who submitted an appointment request. This will ensure that people who submitted a request will have an opportunity to schedule before the online tool is launched. If you have submitted an appointment request, you should be contacted by DMV before July 6.

DMV will be launching additional online services that may keep you from needing to make an appointment. You’ll be able to skip the trip an get things done like ordering a replacement license or paying a reinstatement fee.  Be sure to check DMV2U on July 6 to learn more.

Drive-Up VIN Inspections

Some DMV offices are offering drive-up VIN inspections that do not require an appointment. Use this map to see the offices and times available.
