Measurements at a Gaging Station

For a limited number of watersheds in Oregon, measurements of peak discharges have been made on a systematic basis. From these measurements, estimates of peak discharges at specified frequencies have been made.

To get peak discharge estimates from measurements at a gaging station, first go to the Peak Discharge Estimation Mapping Tool

  • Select the Search tab in the upper left tab and select the Gaging stations search method.
  • Enter the peak discharge gaging station number and zoom to the gage location, denoted by blue circle on the map.
  • Click on the Pour Point tab, click the Icon and drop a point on the gaging station location. You should see the message “A gaging station has been selected and the report is available.”
  • Select Station Report to view the peak discharge report of the station.
