Commercial Race Meet

HRA received a license from the ORC to run a commercial race meet at Grants Pass Downs in 2022. The 2024 race season begins in September. Dates are Sept. 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30; Oct. 6, 7, 13, and 14, 2024.

Experience the thrill of live horse racing at race meets this summer in Oregon. Thoroughbreds and quarter horses thunder around tracks from Tillamook on the coast to Burns in the eastern desert. Catch the crowd's excitement, bet on a longshot, or simply be dazzled by a beautiful horse flying down the straightaway -- Oregon's summer race circuit brings the thrill of horse racing to a track near you.

Union - Eastern Oregon Livestock Show
June 7-9, 2024

Eastern Oregon Livestock Show began in 1908 and bills itself as the oldest show in the Northwest. Horse races alternate with rodeo events: place a wager on a horse race, then watch calf ropers, then wander among the lambs and rabbits in the 4-H and FFA barns.  

June 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30, and July 4, 2024 

The Southern Oregon Horse Racing Association puts on Racing on the Rogue at Grants Pass Downs.  The meet’s premier event is the July 4th Firecracker Futurity, when 2-year-old Quarter Horses who have qualified through timed trials sprint 350 yards for approximately $70,000 in prize money. 
 
Prineville - Crooked River Roundup
July 10-13, 2024
Prineville “keeps it Western” with night horse racing. As the sun sets on the Oregon desert, the horse racing heats up, attracting an enthusiastic crowd that runs the gamut from cowboys to Facebookers.

Tillamook - Tillamook County Fair
Aug. 7-10, 2024

Around about August, a day at the Coast can sound pretty good. The Tillamook County Fair has been around since 1891, and besides horse racing offers agricultural displays, a midway and the renowned Pig-N-Ford races.
