Note: The Operation:Oregon initiative has merged with the Improving Government work of the 10-Year Plan for Oregon project.

Improving Government is an initiative that evaluates how state government operates in order to maximize dollars that directly serve Oregonians. The initiative

brings agencies together in a collaborative manner to create unified operational change, evaluating opportunities where“back-office” functions can be optimized, streamlined or otherwise modified to reduce administrative costs while still supporting the long-term objectives and outcomes of the state.

Improving Government has three primary focus areas at this time:

                   Address Current Biennia Revenue Shortfall
Seek ways to address budget shortfall by considering short-term projects that create long-term efficiencies.

Reduce Costs of Administrative Services in the 2013-15 Biennium

Take specific, collective actions through FY13-15 budget and planning processes to further increase operational efficiency and reduce administrative costs, consistent with the 2010 Legislative 10% Reduction Budget Note.

                  Improve How Government Works

Build efficient operations for Executive branch State agencies in order to maximize service delivery to Oregonians.
