This photo of a section of Interstate 5 in the Siskiyous from the mid-1960's shows the evolution of Oregon's highway system. A wagon trail can be seen at the top of the picture, then Highway 99 in the 1940s, then Highway 99 in the 1950s, then I-5 in the 1960s.

Today's Interstates
 

In 1999, a third lane was constructed on Interstate 84 at Cabbage Hill, east of Pendleton.
 

The Upper Perry bridge west of La Grande was one of eight bridges between mile points 256 and 259, replaced on Interstate 84 between 2002 and 2005.
 

Electric Heating Wires were installed in the Interstate 84 eastbound lanes between mile points 271 and 272 at Ladd Canyon, east of La Grande.
