Transportation Commission to meet March 18 in Salem

The Oregon Transportation Commission will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, in Room 122 of the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol Street N.E., in Salem.
 
Commission members will consider the approval of an amendment to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program to include a list of approved projects to be funded by the federal economic stimulus package.
 
The commission will hear an update on the status of transportation safety in Oregon and will be asked to approve a proposed governor’s proclamation designating May as Transportation Safety Awareness Month.
 
Other items on the commission agenda include:
* An informational update and presentation on the vehicle miles traveled charging system; and
* A presentation on Highway Division Project Delivery Improvement.
 
Meetings of the Oregon Transportation Commission are open to the public. Time will be available at the meeting for commissioners to hear public comments.
