The Oregon Motor Carrier Transportation Advisory Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Natural Resource Center, 3415 Commercial St. SE in Salem.
The committee will hear an update on the Columbia River Crossing by ODOT Director Matthew Garrett, and presentations about the new state laws on cell phone use while driving, new medical card requirements for commercial driver license holders, new rules on hours of service to take effect next year, and other topics.
Gayle Green, Motor Carrier Audit Program manager, will facilitate the meeting. The committee is made up of representatives from the Oregon Department of Transportation, Oregon State Police, the trucking industry, and related industries.
