About the ACT
Area: Coos, Curry and Douglas counties.
History: Initial Charter approved by OTC on April 20, 2000
Membership: Membership is comprised of up to 20 voting members, representing Douglas, Coos and Curry counties. Membership includes public sector representatives as appointed by the governing body from the following: Douglas County, Coos County, Curry County, Roseburg, Coos Bay, Brookings and ODOT. Remaining membership includes two at-large cities and two stakeholders from Douglas County, one at-large city and two stakeholders from Coos County, one stakeholder from Curry County, and modal representation of ports, bicycle and pedestrian, freight/rail, aviation and transit from either county.

Leadership: SWACT meetings will be resided over by a Chair. A Chair and Vice-Chair will be nominated from and elected by the members of the ACT for a two-year term starting January of each even numbered year. Staffing: ODOT provides staff support. Work Program: Determined by SWACT Steering Committee and includes education on transportation funding, projects, planning and issues; public involvement process planning; STIP updating; establishing criteria for the selection of STIP projects; coordination with regional community solutions team, and community development work. Other: SWACT will select and use a technical advisory committee as needed, and include adjoining area commissions on its mailing list and meeting notices. Operating Documents:
