A New Way of Doing Business

The Oregon Department of Transportation is moving to a "paperless" way of conducting construction project to align with Federal Highway Administration initiatives and industry best practices.

e-Construction at ODOT

e-Construction is the collection, review, approval and distribution of highway construction contract documents in a paperless environment.
 

Through the e-Construction program, ODOT aims increase efficiency of construction staff by streamlining communications with internal and external partners through the automation of document processing using digital technology.

ODOT split the implementation of e-Construction into 3 sections:

  • Document management system
  • Mobile field tools
  • Data management system

Document Management: Doc Express

  • Projects bid after January 1, 2018 and administered by an ODOT Project Manager are manage through Doc Express.
