The Responsible Vendor Program
server
Retail licensees who join the Responsible Vendor Program and maintain all of its requirements are eligible for reduced sanctions if their employees sell alcohol to a minor or fail to properly check ID.

The RVP program is designed to reduce underage drinking, encourage licensees to adopt specific best practices to prevent sales to minors, and provide licensees with an incentive to give their employees on-going training in responsible alcohol sales and service.

The program is free, voluntary, and self-monitoring. To participate in the program, licensees must submit an application form to the OLCC.

Starting Your Own Craft Distillery

Oregon law expanded in 2008 to allow new business opportunities for craft distillers, and to help to promote the industry. As a result, craft distilleries can now offer tasting samples of their products at their distillery or at a separate tasting room, or sell their products by the glass or drink at a restaurant at their distillery or another location.

Furloughs - OLCC Employees take up to 14 unpaid days off
furlough closures
The current recession has reduced state revenues, and has forced the Legislature to make deep cuts in agency budgets. Coping with reductions in revenues, the state of Oregon has mandated that OLCC employees (along with other agencies) take as many as 14 unpaid furlough days during the biennium. As a result, we may be short-staffed at times and you may not always be able to reach someone. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. As an agency, we will strive to provide the best customer service we can under the circumstances and appreciate your patience during this time. We look forward to restoration of a full work schedule for all state employees when the economy improves.
