PCB-Related Costs School May Incure
Costs incurred if a leak or fire occurs:

Costs associated with a leak or fire are not just financial. School programs and functions will be disrupted, possibly affecting the quality of the education that the students receive. Students and staff may be reluctant to return to the contaminated classroom.
The monetary consequences of the cleanup process are costly, requiring properly trained personnel, analytical testing and retesting of the contaminated area, disposal of the toxic materials and replacement of equipment lost during the leak or fire. This is why the EPA recommends that a school undertake the lighting retrofit before problems occur.
