SALEM — The Oregon Department of Energy is hosting a workshop on Jan. 13 to hear public comment on proposed minor changes to the Energy Facility Siting Council rules.
The workshop will begin at 2 p.m. at ODOE’s Salem office (625 Marion Street NE). Participants not able to attend the workshop in person may call in, toll-free, to 1-877-214-5010 and enter participant code 799345.
The administrative rules under review are Chapter 345, Divisions 1, 11, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26 and 27. Possible rule amendments are described on a Rule Review Matrix that was presented to the Council in October. The proposed amendments are solely to make corrections, modify procedures to increase efficiency and make minor word changes (columns A and B on the matrix). Rulemaking for other more substantive changes (column C) are not being considered at this time.
Three examples of these minor changes or corrections include:
-
allowing the use of e-mail to provide various notifications,
-
reducing the number of printed copies of site certificate applications and other documents that applicants must submit to ODOE for review, and
-
fixing cross-references to statutes that have changed.
For more information and to obtain a copy of the Rule Review Matrix, please see the Rulemaking Workshop section on the ODOE website at: http://www.oregon.gov/ENERGY/SITING/announce.shtml.
