Hermiston Power Project

Facility: A 546-megawatt natural gas, combined-cycle combustion turbine with power augmentation (600 megawatts with augmentation).

Status (Operating): Operations began on Aug. 1, 2002.

Location: Umatilla County, three miles south of Hermiston.

Site Certificate Holder: Hermiston Power LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Calpine Corporation.

Site certificate amendment #5: Allowed the use of the Department-sponsored guide for decommissioning energy facilities to determine required retirement funds.

Site certificate amendment #4: Allowed operating changes to include duct burning and ensured compliance with the applicable carbon dioxide emissions standards, revised the water usage required to operate the facility and allowed the reroute of one mile of the 500-kilovolt transmission line.
