  • You will need an appointment for a drive test. 
  • Make an appointment for drive testing at DMV2U.
  • You can change or cancel your appointment.

Mailing In Your Transaction?

Please do not send any mail to this office. All mailed-in transactions should be sent to DMV Headquarters:


This office offers drive test appointments. Drive tests at DMV are given by appointment only. You may schedule a testing (not an issuance) appointment using DM2U, or by calling the office number above. If appointments are full, check back daily for new appointments. You may schedule a drive test using a 3rd Party Tester or at a DMV office.

You must show proof of insurance before a drive test. You can use:
  • A valid insurance card;
  • A current vehicle liability insurance policy or binder; or
  • A DMV Certificate of Self-Insurance showing you as the owner of the vehicle. 
Note: If there is inclement weather, drive tests may be canceled or traction devices may be required. Please confirm your drive test using DMV2U or calling the office number above. DMV offices are closed for Statewide Holidays​.​

Going East

  • Travel east on the Ochoco Hwy (OR-26), aka Third St, until you reach Ochoco Plaza Dr.
  • Turn LEFT into the Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center.
  • The DMV office is located in the Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center next to the coin laundry at the east end of Prineville on OR-26 between Ochoco Plaza Dr and Combs Flat Rd.
  • During construction, to access the DMV office, enter Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center from NE Third Street/Hwy 26.


Going West

  • Travel west on the Ochoco Hwy (OR-26), aka Third St, until you reach Combs Flat Rd.
  • Just past Combs Flat Rd, turn RIGHT into the Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center.
  • The DMV office is located in the Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center next to the coin laundry at the east end of Prineville on OR-26 between Ochoco Plaza Dr and Combs Flat Rd.
  • During construction, to access the DMV office, enter Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center from NE Third Street/Hwy 26.


Going North/South

  • From north or southbound Main St (OR-27), turn east on the Ochoco Hwy (OR-26), aka Third St.
  • Travel east until you reach Ochoco Plaza Dr.
  • Turn LEFT into the Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center.
  • The DMV office is located in the Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center next to the coin laundry at the east end of Prineville on OR-26 between Ochoco Plaza Dr and Combs Flat Rd.​
  • During construction, to access the DMV office, enter Ochoco Plaza Shopping Center from NE Third Street/Hwy 26.
