Disabled Person Parking Permits

Requirements

Renewable, Temporary, & Wheelchair Permits

  1. Have a valid Oregon Driver License or ID Card; and
  2. Doctor signature on the application.
Your doctor must certify that you have a need for the permit.
 

Oregon Wounded Warrior Permit

 
  1. Have a valid Oregon Driver License or ID Card.
  2. Doctor signature on the application.
  3. Provide a letter from the Veterans’ Administration indicating 50% or greater service connected disability; and
  4. A discharge status other than dishonorable.
 
  • Renewable (dark blue) and Temporary (red):
    • Allows parking in a public parking zone that has a limit of more than 30 minutes; and
    • Allows parking in any space reserved for disabled person parking, except for “wheelchair user only” spaces.
  • Wheelchair User Permit (medium blue):
    • Allows parking in a public parking zone that has a limit of more than 30 minutes without paying the parking meter fee;*
    • Allows parking in a public parking zone that has a limit of more than 30 minutes without being charged overtime penalties;* and
    • Allows parking in any space reserved for disabled person parking.
  • Oregon Wounded Warrior Permit
    • ​Allows parking in a public parking zone that has a limit of more than 30 minutes without paying the parking meter fee;* and
    • Allows parking in a public parking zone that has a limit of more than 30 minutes without being charged overtime penalties.*

*Check local parking laws.

You can’t use your permit to park where:

  • Parking is only permitted for 30 minutes or less;
  • No parking is allowed;
  • No late evening or overnight parking is allowed; or
  • Parking is reserved for special types of vehicles.

Submit the appropriate application below.  There is no fee for the permit.

Note: You must turn in a new certificate of disability each time you renew your parking permit.

You must return your permit to DMV when you move out-of-state. If you are returning a permit by mail, please include a note with a brief explanation of why it is being returned.
