iOS Oregon Inspector App will not email results

Follow the steps below to setup an inspectors work email in Apple Mail App - if emails not being received by customers from the Oregon Inspector App.

Apple devices using the Apple Mail App (envelope icon) is the best way to send emails of inspection summary reports to customers using the Oregon Inspector App. No other mail apps on iOS or Android devices work well sending inspection results via email. The Oregon Inspector App uses the Apple Mail App to send the Inspection Summary Report to customers after an inspection is completed. Once an inspection is complete the inspector taps on the completed inspection and then taps the 'View Report' button at the bottom of the screen. The inspector will then choose the report they wish to send, but most of the time it is the first report titled Inspection Summary Report (Pictures). After opening this report the inspector will tap the envelope icon at the top right-hand side of the screen.

Apple Mail is programmable by our App Developer, meaning the App can control the App in the background which allows the user to choose recipients on the Oregon Inspector App, then it will populate the email in Apple Mail, drop in the recipients they choose in the 'To' field, fill-in the subject and body of the email while attaching the Inspection Summary Report as a PDF and allow them to edit/send the email. This is a manual function each time an inspection is resulted. Emails are not automatically sent from the Oregon Inspector App.

In order for this to work, the users work email has to be set up via Apple Mail. The user or IT department will need to set up their work email through the Apple Mail App using the Settings App on the device being used. This can be done by going to Settings > Scroll to bottom of screen > Mail, then mail accounts if an email account is already set up > add Account.

It is required to have the inspectors work email setup via the Apple Mail App for it to function properly.

Troubleshooting: If the inspector's work email is setup via the Apple Mail App and customers are not receiving emails have the inspector check their Outbox or Sent folder in the Apple Mail App. Most of the time their email password has expired or something has happened to the Apple Mail App and the emails will be stuck in their Outbox. If the emails are showing in the inspectors sent folder this is most likely on the recipients end.
