Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)

Answer
Do I have to access all Pre-ETS at once?

Pre-ETS are not a set package. They are individualized to meet the student’s needs. More than one Pre-ETS can be accessed at a time and services can occur anytime while a student.

Meeting with a Pre-ETS Coordinator or TNF/Pre-ETS Support Specialist in your area can assist you in finding what types of Pre-ETS are a good fit for you.

When should a student request Pre-ETS?

If a student is potentially eligible or eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services, they can request Pre-ETS.

The best time to request Pre-ETS is when the student is starting to think about what their next steps will be after High School or Transition School.

Who can request Pre-ETS for a student?
  • Parent or guardian
  • Teacher Services Coordinator or Personal Agent
  • Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Counselor
  • Transition Specialist
  • Student
How do I apply or request to receive Pre-ETS?

Fill out a Pre-ETS request form, submit:

If the student is under 18 or has a legal guardian, the Pre-Employment Consent and Request form must be signed by them as well as the student.

For more information, you can contact a Pre-ETS Coordinator or go to a local VR office in your area.

The forms are in English and Spanish.

What is Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Coordinator?

A Pre-ETS Coordinator partners with school districts, state agencies and community providers to assist in delivering, enhancing and growing transition-based programs and opportunities for students.

A Pre-ETS Coordinator or a TNF/Pre-ETS Support Specialist can assist in understanding options for receiving Pre-ETS activities, coordinating services with Vocational Rehabilitation for transition-age students and connecting with other services to assist transition-age students.

A TNF/Pre-ETS Support Specialist assists both Pre-ETS Coordinators and Transition Network Facilitators in the delivery of pre-employment transition services.
