Schedule Your REACT Test
Correctional Officer applicants must schedule their National Testing Network (NTN) REACT test before submitting their application.
IMPORTANT: Please read the entire job announcement prior to submitting your application. There are specific instructions for applying with the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) and you could be rejected from consideration if you do not follow these instructions.
DOC contracts for testing services for the Correctional Officer position with National Testing Network (NTN). To fill out an application for testing and schedule a test, visit the NTN website
and select Corrections to sign up for the Oregon Department of Corrections.
- Review all information related to the Oregon Department of Corrections Correctional Officer position, including minimum requirements, salary, and benefits.
- Review detailed information about the testing process for the entry level test.
- Consider taking some online practice tests.
- Schedule your own convenient test time. Tests are offered at different dates and times depending on the test center’s schedule.
Once you have scheduled your test, you are ready to fill out and submit a job application.
Take Your REACT Test
Show up at the location, date, and time you selected and take the NTN REACT test. The test takes two and a half hours to complete. Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to DOC. Candidates who receive a passing score of 70 percent or higher in all areas of the entry level exam will be contacted about the next recruitment step.
NTN is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. NTN does not represent DOC's responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to DOC, where the final decisions are made.
