Oregon Law Enforcement Memorial
The annual Oregon Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony honors the law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty in our state. The ceremony is held on the first Tuesday each May at the Oregon Public Safety Academy in Salem.
A permanent memorial at the academy bears the names of the nearly 200 officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice since the 1860s. It includes law enforcement, corrections, and parole and probation officers from city, county, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies.
The memorial was constructed on the grounds of the former academy in Monmouth and dedicated on May 15, 1991. It was moved to the current academy site in Salem and rededicated during the annual ceremony on May 11, 2006.
The Oregon Law Enforcement Memorial Trust Fund 501(c)3 is honored to host the annual memorial ceremony that is held on the first Tuesday of every May.
