Accessibility and Language Services at DPSST

The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) is committed to ensuring access for all individuals. We take reasonable steps to provide accommodations that support participation by individuals with disabilities and those with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).

DPSST offers auxiliary aids and services at no cost, including:

  • Qualified interpreters (available by phone, in person, or through written communication)

  • Translation services for LEP individuals

  • Support for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing

All DPSST programs may utilize our contracted translation services to assist with phone calls, in-person visits, and email communications. These services are available at no cost to the requestor and can support both scheduled meetings and immediate translation needs in a wide range of languages.

Additionally, external websites hosted on Oregon.gov offer translation into 26 different languages to further enhance accessibility.

Please note: While DPSST strives to provide reasonable accommodations, there may be instances where the cost or available resources create an undue burden. In such cases, DPSST will work to provide alternative accommodations that still ensure effective communication.
