ABOUTSouth Slough Reserve

South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve is a protected area and national leader in coastal education, research, stewardship, and training. The Reserve is comprised of forests, salt marshes, mudflats, and water channels, all of which are home to hundreds of native plant and animal species. A visitor center and numerous hiking and water trails are open to the public, and educational programming and events are hosted throughout the year.

Wasson forest work outreach

For the safety of our community, forests in the Wasson Valley will be closed to the public beginning April 1 and take about 1.5 months to complete. This will not affect the access to the Hinch Bridge paddle launch.

South End Trail Closure

For safety reasons the Wasson Creek/Theodore Johnson watershed will be closed July 25-August 25 during restoration activities. Access to the watercraft launch via Hinch Road will remain open and accessible.
