ABOUTSouth Slough Reserve

South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve is a protected area within the ancestral lands of the miluk peoples. The Reserve is comprised of forests, salt marshes, mudflats, and water channels, all of which are home to hundreds of native plant and animal species. A visitor center and numerous hiking and water trails are open to the public, and educational programming and events are hosted throughout the year. The Reserve is a national leader in coastal education, research, stewardship, and training.
