Teen Involvement

Teen Leaders

My Future-My Choice trains high school students across Oregon to be Teen Leaders. They help teach four of the sixth grade program lessons.

Teen Leaders act as role models to middle school students. They also help make My Future-My Choice a better and more memorable experience for sixth grade. Teen Leaders have the opportunity to collaborate as members of the Teen Advisory Board.

Teen Leader Classroom Guide

Teen Advisory Board

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a statewide leadership opportunity for teens interested in sexual health education.

What do TAB members do?
  • Develop leadership skills.
  • Act as the youth voice of the program.
  • Work with a local mentor to carry out a leadership project over the school year.
  • Provide feedback on the MFMC lessons and program.

Responsibilities

TAB members and mentors must attend two major events during the year.

  • The first is a two-day virtual event in the fall. This kickoff event allows teens to meet one another. During the kickoff, they will learn essential skills for the TAB year.
  • In the spring, TAB comes back together for a two-day in-person event. It celebrates the hard work of the TAB members.

Previous TAB members have presented at conferences and state-wide meetings. TAB members are always welcome to stay involved in the program. TAB members receive a stipend of up to $500 for completing the year.
