How it works
When you become eligible for SSDI or SSI for a disability, you are automatically enrolled in a program called "Ticket to Work."
You can get free help to:
- Decide if working is right for you
- Prepare for work
- Find and keep a job
How to get services
You have three options to get employment services.
Option 1. Work with Vocational Rehabilitation
Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) helps people with all kinds of disabilities find the right job.

Option 2. Work with Oregon Commission for the Blind
People who are blind or deaf-blind can get VR services through
Oregon Commission for the Blind (OCB).
To get started with OCB:
Option 3. Work with an Employment Network provider
Employment Network (EN) providers are authorized by Social Security to provide free employment services.
To get started with an EN provider:
After you start working
Some of your benefits may change once you start earning income. You can get
free benefits counseling services so you know if your benefits will change and can prepare for any changes.
If the job doesn’t work out, you can come back to VR or choose a different Employment Network provider.
