OR 219 Pedestrian Safety Project

Construction Phase

Region 2: Willamette Valley and Northwest Oregon (Newberg, Yamhill County)


​​​​​​​​​​​Construct sidewalks to improve pedestrian safety between Aldercrest Drive and Quail Drive.

None at this time.

Construction Impacts

None at this time. We plan to start construction in 2024. ​

When construction starts, you can expect:

  • Work happening during the day. 

  • Nighttime lane closures as needed.

  • A four to five day period where 24hr flagging will be needed so we can dig a trench across the road.

Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers. 

Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not. ​​

About

​We are continuing improvements on OR 219 in the City of Newberg to improve pedestrian safety. 

We are:

  • Constructing sidewalks on the west side of OR 219 by replacing the current drainage ditch with sidewalks.

  • Installing​ ADA compliant curb ramps.

  • Improving drainage.

  • Striping bike lanes on both sides of the road.​

Schedule

Design: 2020-2022
Construction may begin in spring 2024.
