This section of highway is designated a Priority Route by ODOT. Culverts along this section of highway needed to be repaired to extend their lifespan and maintain safety on the highway.
In 2024, we're cleaning 19 culverts that run under I-84 between Corbett and just west of Biggs.

Benefits
Safety:
The new culverts help manage water flow and minimize flooding and erosion near
roads, which improves safety for people traveling on the highway.
Extending the life of critical infrastructure: This work extended the life of
the transportation system by repairing and conducting maintenance activities on
culverts that run under the existing roads.
Additional Information
Over the next several years, we have many construction projects planned on I-84 between I-205 and Hood River, and on the Historic Columbia River Highway between Troutdale and Hood River.
