Inactivate or Reactivate License

You may inactivate your license if you are temporarily not doing business in real estate. Your license must be active to conduct professional real estate activity.

  • Log into your eLicense account to inactivate your license.

You can only reactivate your license if you have an inactive license. Check your license status in eLicense.*

  1. Complete the required continuing education.
  2. If you have been inactive for more than 2 consecutive years:
    • Register for the reactivation exam (PDF) by sending an email to orea.info@oregon.gov. Include your full licensed name, license number, type of license, and email address. PSI will notify you by email when you are eligible to schedule and pay for the reactivation exam.
    • Schedule the reactivation exam with PSI and pay the fee.
    • Take and pass the reactivation exam.
  3. Log into your eLicense account to reactivate your license.
    • Enter your continuing education course information, if needed.
    • Pay the $150 fee.
  4. Get transferred to a business. Your license is not active until this step is complete. You have 30 days to complete this step or you forfeit your reactivation fee.
    • Brokers, remind your principal broker to log in to eLicense and add or transfer your license to the business.
    • Principal brokers, decide how you will do business:
      • Under a new Registered Business Name - Register a Business
      • Under another principal broker in an existing business - Remind your principal broker to log into eLicense to add or transfer you to the business.
    • Property managers, decide how you will do business:
      • Under a new Registered Business Name - Register for a Business Name
      • Under a principal broker or another property manager - Remind your principal broker or property manager to log in to eLicense to add or transfer you to the business.

Your license will be active once you are transferred to a business.

*If your license does not appear in the online search, then your license has lapsed and you will need to reapply for a license.
