Renew Your Real Estate License

You can renew your license in eLicense starting the first day of the month your license expires in. Check your license expiration date by logging into your eLicense account or searching your name in the Licensee Lookup.

The Agency emails license renewal reminders to you. These emails are a courtesy. You are responsible for renewing your license on time even if you do not receive an email.

Conducting professional real estate activity with an inactive or expired license may result in civil penalties.

Select from the following renewal scenarios for more information:

An active renewal means:
  • Your license status is active and you are keeping it active, or 
  • Your license has been inactive for less than 2 years and you want to make it active.
To renew your license;
  1. Complete the required continuing education​.
  2. Log into your eLi​cense account:
    • Enter continuing education class information in eLicense if you haven't yet.
    • Pay the $300 fee.
    • Receipt is emailed after transaction is completed.
    1. Maintain your continuing education records​​ for 3 years from your renewal date.​​

    An inactive renewal means:

    • Your license is inactive and you want to keep it inactive, or
    • Your license is active but you want your license to become inactive at renewal.

    To renew your license:

    1. ​​​Log into your eLi​cense account:​​
    2. ​​No continuing education is required.​​​
    3. Pay the $150 fee.
    4. Receipt is emailed after transaction is complete.​

    ​​Please note: You cannot conduct professional real estate activity while your license is inactive.

    ​​​If you fail to renew your license before the license expiration date, you have one year to renew your license late. After one year, it becomes lapsed.

    License was active at expiration​

    If your license was active, the license became inactive upon expiration.

    1. Complete the required continuing education​.
    2. Log into your eLi​cense account:
      • Enter continuing education class information in eLicense if you haven't yet.
      • Pay the $300 fee + $150 late renewal fee​.​
      • Receipt is emailed after transaction is completed.
    3. Maintain your continuing education records​ for 3 years from your renewal date.​
    4. Your supervising principal broker or property manager must log into eLicense and transfer your license back to the business.

    ​License was inactive at expiration​

    1. Log into your eLi​cense account.
    2. ​​No continuing education is required.
    3. Pay the $150 fee + $150 late renewal fee​.
    4. Receipt is emailed after transaction is complete.
