Transferring Files to P&D
FTP Instructions
Double click on “My Computer” on your desktop. In the address bar type: ftp://ftp-pp.das.state.or.us. Enter the username & password when prompted.
Please call 503-373-1700 for incoming or outgoing password.

Before transferring files or folders, they must be named with the job number for identification. P&D also recommends compressing any application files, fonts or graphics. Compressing individual files is not necessary if they are post scripted, comma-delimited, tab-separated, ASCII, etc.

FTP Directories

Incoming: This is where customers place electronic files or folders. You will automatically be placed in the directory called Plant_in upon log in. Users have write privileges in this directory.
  • Host Name-Address: ftp-pp.das.state.or.us
  • User Name: pub
  • Password: Please call 503-373-1700
Outgoing: P&D can place files or folders for customers to pick up. Items placed in this folder will automatically be deleted after five days. You only have read privileges in this directory.

Tips for file transfer
Compress folders that contain application files, fonts or graphics before sending (see links below).

Macintosh Users, send all files as raw data.

Windows users, send all files as binary.

If your FTP files are not transferring correctly using either raw data on a Macintosh or binary on Windows, please contact P&D and we will explore other options.

Compressed folders can be created by using programs like Stuffit Deluxe or DropStuff by Aladdin (Macintosh) to create .sit files. On Windows machines, you can use any program that allows you to create .zip files. An example program is WinZip.
