Applying For Licensure in Oregon
APPLICATION FOR LICENSURE INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION
 
WHEN TO APPLY:  As you approach graduation, but not more than six months prior, you may begin to submit documents and references to the Board. 
 
APPLICATION FEE:   $300 (non-refundable)
 
WORKING IN OREGON BEFORE LICENSED:
To provide psychological services in Oregon prior to being licensed, a person must be:  1) an approved applicant in a Board-approved contract for supervision; or, 2) in an exempt setting (see ORS 675.090); or, 3) if licensed in another state, must be granted a limited permit (see OAR 858-010-0055).

Your completed application and all supporting documents must be received prior to a formal review of your application.
 
APPLICATION PACKETS
 
There are 4 different application packets for licensureALL INFORMATION IN THE APPLICATION PACKET IS REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED.  Please note:  Be sure you have the most current version as packets are updated frequently.   For example – if you download the packet and submit it for processing after 1 month has passed, you should check to see if a more current version is being used.  If your packet is outdated, it will slow down the process for you!

#1 Standard Applicant
  • For those who have recently received their degree and are not licensed in another jurisdiction.
 
#2 Licensed as a Psychologist in Another State 
  • For those who have been licensed for under 15 year
 
#3 ASPPB CPQ or National Register Credentialed Application 
  • ASPPB:  Certificate of Professional Qualification  (CPQ); or
  • National Register:  Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP), and licensed for at least 5 years.  If licensed for less than 5 years, complete application packet #2 (Licensed as a Psychologist in Another Jurisdiction).
 
#4 Senior Psychologist Application Packet 
  • For those who possess and have maintained a license as a psychologist for at least 15 years.
