  • Welcome to the Plant Program Area at ODA!

The Plant Program Area includes four sections: Insect Pest Prevention & Management, Native Plant Conservation, Noxious Weed Control, and Nursery & Christmas Tree. The programs protect Oregon's agricultural industries and natural environment from harmful plant pests, diseases and noxious weeds; enhance the value and marketability of exported nursery stock, Christmas trees, seeds and other agricultural products; and further the conservation of threatened and endangered plants.

The new mapping platform will give you access to layers relevant to weed management such as roads, rivers, Cooperative Weed Management Area boundaries and more in combination with the ability to draw lines and polygons on your maps to be saved, printed or shared. In addition, the data that comprises the entirety of the known weed sites to ODA can now be downloaded for your own use in your Geographic Information Systems.

Oregon nursery licenses
A license issued by the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is required by anyone operating as a grower or dealer of nursery stock in Oregon. The department offers three different types of nursery licenses, including one for dealers, one for greenhouse growers of herbaceous plants, and one for wholesale growers and collectors of native plants. Exceptions include businesses whose total sales do not exceed $250 per fiscal year and/or landscaping businesses or brokers that do not grow or store live plant material for more than one year.
