Suggested lead: The Hermiston DMV office will be closed the last week and a half of June for some much-needed repairs…
SALEM - If you need to visit the Hermiston DMV office, you should probably do so soon. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until July.
House: The Hermiston DMV office will be closed for a week and a half so that major repairs and upgrades can be done to the interior of the office. So the closure will be Wed., June 19 through Friday, June 28. The office will re-open on Monday, July 1. :17
DMV Public Information Officer David House said customers may also want to avoid visiting the office on the days right before it closes and the days right after it opens. Those are traditionally busy days, too. And when the office re-opens on Monday, July first, it will close again on the following Thursday, for 4th of July. Still, the office, located at 945 SE 4th St., is overdue for some updates.
House: DMV has been at that location in Hermiston for 30 years without doing any significant remodeling, repairs to the interior so it’s due for some work on the interior. :10
House reminds customers that many transactions can be performed online, such as address changes and in some cases, vehicle registration renewals.
House: DMV always recommends that people check OregonDMV.com before they go to a field office. They might be able to do their transaction online or by downloading and printing a form and doing it by mail, and save themselves a trip to an office. : 14
