SALEM – Now that passenger air service from Klamath Falls has ended, many travelers will look to fly out of Medford. One stress-free way to get to the Medford Airport and back is via South West POINT, operated by Klamath Shuttle with support from the Oregon Department of Transportation. With an updated schedule, South West POINT gets to the airport in just under two hours. It leaves the Amtrak Station in Klamath Falls at 9:50 a.m. and arrives at the Medford Airport at 11:35 a.m. It leaves the Medford Airport at 5 p.m. and arrives back in Klamath Falls at 6:50 p.m.
“We’ve always known the POINT provided a valuable service,” said Matthew Barnes, ODOT Public Transit manager. “Now it’s even more important because it links to a mode of transportation no longer available in Klamath Falls.”
One-way fares for the trip are $25 for adults, $22.50 for seniors 62+, and $18.75 for children 2-11. Tickets are available at 445 South Spring Street in Klamath Falls. The South West POINT, which began operating in spring 2009, runs a round-trip route every day between Klamath Falls and Brookings, including a stop in Crescent City, Calif.
