Introduction

The Transportation Systems Monitoring (TSM) Unit has the mission to formulate a system to collect and process traffic related data on Oregon´s Highways.  TSM provides traffic volumes, flow maps, trends, manual counts and vehicle class on state highways to Federal, State, Local, private and public constituents.

Traffic Volume Tables

This Page provides access to the web version of the Oregon State Highway Transportation Volume Tables, including the Permanent Traffic Recorder section and the Interchange Ramp Volume Diagrams. The Highway numbers seen in these pages are the Oregon Department of Transportation highway numbers. These numbers are not what you would see on road side signs when driving on our highways. For those not familiar with our highway numbering system there is a Highway Cross Reference Table with maps available in this menu.

The TSM Unit currently only publishes vehicle classification breakdowns at the Permanent Automatic Traffic Recorder Stations (ATR). We publish vehicle classification data according to the FHWA Scheme-F 13 vehicle guidelines plus an additional 14th class for triple trailer trucks. FHWA Vehicle Classification Definitions

Please see the next section for additional classification information on State Highways.

State Highway Vehicle Classification Data
http://highway.odot.state.or.us/cf/highwayreports/traffic_parms.cfm

The TSM Unit collects classification data on all state highways.  We classify vehicles according to the FHWA Scheme-F 13 vehicle guidelines. FHWA Vehicle Classification Definitions This presentation of the data differs from the Volume Tables in that it is presented by range rather than location.  The mile point shown is not where the count was taken, but rather the beginning of the range the count is considered to represent.  The data presented in the classification report also includes the AADT, design hour factor and ton mileage factor.

For additional classification information on a State Highway, please contact the Traffic Monitoring Coordinator, Tricia Tanner: tricia.j.tanner@odot.state.or.us or Gretchen Harvey: gretchen.a.harvey@odot.state.or.us

For each station, ten years of historical data is listed showing the annual average daily traffic (ADT). The maximum day, maximum hour, 10th, 20th, 30th highest hours are shown in percent of ADT. Asterisks (****), indicate recorder was inoperative during periods of maximum expected traffic.

The ATR data consists of both the Average Weekday Traffic (AWD) and Average Daily Traffic by months. Also a vehicle classification breakdown is shown by percent of ADT. Classification counts were obtained for 16, 24, or 48 hour periods..
