Golden Hills Wind Project is approved to be a wind energy facility with up to 125 wind turbines and a maximum capacity of 400 megawatts, located within a site boundary of approximately 29,500 acres.
Under Review/Approved: The facility has not
yet been built. Construction must begin by June 18, 2020.
On May 4, 2018, the
Department received a preliminary Request for Amendment 5 (pAMD5) for the
Golden Hills Wind Project site certificate (provided in link below). The pAMD5
requests approval for construction and operation of a differing turbine model
option that would increase turbine hub height, maximum blade tip height, and
reduce minimum blade tip clearance; pAMD5 also requests to amend Condition
PRE-DC-01 based on differing turbine model option specifications and to
eliminate a restriction on combined weight of turbine metal. The pAMD5 also includes
a “Type B Review” amendment determination request pursuant to OAR
The Department is
conducting a concurrent evaluation of completeness and of the Type B Review
request. The Department’s evaluation and review process determination (Type A
or Type B) will be posted to the website when available. A complete version of
AMD5 will be posted to the website following the Department’s completeness
determination, A public comment period will be initiated following issuance of
the Department’s Draft Proposed Order (date TBD).
