Montague Wind Power Facility is approved to be wind energy facility with up to 262 wind turbines and a maximum capacity of 404 megawatts, located within a site boundary of approximately 33,402 acres.
Under Review/Approved: The facility has not been built. Construction of the facility began before the September 14, 2017 deadline and must be completed by September 14, 2020.
On August 04, 2017, the certificate holder submitted a change request for the Department’s review of whether a site certificate amendment is required pursuant to OAR 345-027-0050 for two proposed facility modifications. The modifications seek to adjust the facility’s site boundary and change the transmission line route. The change request is currently under review; the Department’s amendment determination will be posted to the website once available.
On January 9, 2018, the Department began reviewing the preliminary Request for Amendment 4 (pAMD4) of the Montague Wind Power Facility
Site Certificate (provided in link below). The Department is currently performing a completeness review of the pRFA and will notify the certificate holder whether the request for amendment is complete within 60 days after receipt of the pRFA [in accordance with the OAR 345-027-0063(2) requirements for Type A review]. Following the Department’s completeness determination, a
complete version of AMD4 will be posted to the website. A public comment period
will be initiated following the issuance of the Department's Draft Proposed
Order (date TBD).
The pAMD4 requests Council approval for the following primary components:
expansion of the site boundary to encompass approximately 13,365 acres; wind turbine
relocation; and the addition of both a solar array and battery storage system
to the proposed expanded site boundary.
