Let's Talk Diversity Coalition

The Let’s Talk Diversity Coalition serves Jefferson County and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. In addition to the large Native American Population, the region has a growing Latino population. Since 2008, The Let’s Talk Diversity Coalition has brought these communities together to foster cross-cultural education and dialogue to improve health outcomes within their community. In 2011, the Let’s Talk Diversity Coalition joined the regional equity coalition program.

The Coalition is comprised of several organizational partners, representing the diversity of the region:

The Coalition conducted a variety of community-based assessments, trainings and engagement activities to shape the development of their five year plan and priorities

  • Increase cross-cultural understanding and acceptance
  • Improve healthy living and physical activity for Warm Springs and Jefferson County residents through advancing healthy food policies in schools, county and tribal jurisdictions.
  • Creation of more jobs in their region which pay a living wage and are attainable for the priority populations
  • Create opportunities and ability for priority populations to receive job training and career development support
  • Improve tobacco awareness and expand tobacco free community areas
  • To improve access  and opportunities for physical activity and health care in Central Oregon for Warm Springs and Jefferson County residents
