Renew online at DMV2U. If you lost your renewal reminder,
Expired? You can still renew online if your plates expired less than a year ago. Print or keep an electronic image of your receipt to use as proof of registration until the new stickers arrive.

Apply online at DMV2U. If the plate you want is not available online you must submit your application at a DMV office or by mail.
NOTICE: Plate transfer requirements changed July 1, 2018. If you are the current or previous owner of the vehicle the plates were removed from, the registration period listed on the plates transfers with the plates onto the vehicle. If you are not the current or previous owner of the vehicle the plates were removed from, you must provide all registration requirements and registration fees along with the $6 plate transfer fee.

How to Apply
If your registration is expired, or you were not an owner on DMV records of the vehicle the plates were removed from, see the Renew Your Registration section for instructions.
It can take up to two weeks to receive your stickers or registration card. If you do not receive it by then do not cancel your check, contact DMV to check the status of your renewal.
You do not have to renew the registration if the vehicle is not being driven. When you want to use the vehicle again, you can renew the registration at that time.
